You can see the potential in other people. You encourage them, support their dreams, and recognize what they could become. But how often do you turn that same question toward yourself?
What’s possible for you? And are you making room for it?
After working with entrepreneurs, HBCU students, emerging professionals, and senior leaders, I’ve noticed something interesting. We often know what we want, but we convince ourselves we need more time, more money, another credential, or the perfect conditions before taking action.
And sometimes, preparation becomes a very well-dressed excuse.
In this solo episode of Bridge to You, I reflect on the energy and wisdom I’ve witnessed in HBCU entrepreneur incubators, the importance of preparing for setbacks, and a lesson my own coach helped me revisit: Not every good opportunity is yours to pursue right now.
We explore how vision helps us make better decisions, why small consistent actions build capacity before we need it, and what happens when we spend more time responding to life’s demands than intentionally building the life we say we want.
Because resilience isn’t something we suddenly develop when things get difficult. It’s something we practice.

You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to begin. Start small, stay consistent, and build the capacity for what you say you want.
