This week, The Entrepreneurial You podcast invites Gavin Preston to share on a framework to propel your business into a  huge growth Trajectory.

Here is a snippet of what  Gavin shared:

“Systems and people create leverage in your business. So in the strategy Compass model, I list five stages, the first one being systems, the second being cash…the third one being about advancing or innovating So innovate we would have to be advancing to innovate, the fourth being leadership and culture and the fifth one being personal team Effectiveness. So what systems do you need to be able to enable you to deliver consistency of quality customer experience in quality of product or service output to that customer and  enable you to replicate? Time and time again…it will come with automation whether that be technologically automation, machine automation enables you to be able to create a greater output which is important.”

The internet is available to all who want to leverage its many opportunities. But how many people, instead of using it to make money, are simply scrolling and switching aimlessly between windows as they observe with envy the lifestyle of others?

This week, The Entrepreneurial You podcast invites Paul O’Mahony to examine how we can make money from the internet instead of wasting time.

Here is a snippet of what  Paul shared:

“This device – the smartphone can be a liability which it is for most people or I can be your number one asset and liability for me is anything that takes money out of your pocket or time out of your life when an asset is anything to put money into your pocket and regains time into your life. So at the moment the vast majority of the people on the planet, of which there are now more phones on the planet than people by the way, the vast majority of people use this device as their Compass to give them direction about how their day should go. So, what does that mean? It means they don’t have their own focus. It means they don’t have their own North. It means ultimately they don’t have their own goals. So they are waiting for somebody else to point them in the direction of where their time should be spent on that particular day and this no doubt of course leads to massive levels of anxiety because people lose complete Focus about why they’re here.”

“To excel at the highest level – or any level, really – you need to believe in yourself, and hands down, one of the biggest contributors to my self-confidence has been private coaching.” – Stephen Curry

What the mind can conceive, it can achieve. Sometimes our biggest enemy is what lies between our ears. Our mind is very powerful so we must be very intentional about speaking positive things in our lives. This week guest on The Entrepreneurial You podcast , Dr. Cheryl Wood reminds us to  have a positive mindset as she inspires us from her journey.

Here is a snippet of what  Cheryl shared:

“The most negative mindset is I’m not good enough. I’m not capable. I’m not worthy just as I am. I need more. I need something more. So they keep  going out trying to find the next thing and the next thing and get more and get another degree and get another certification; and believe me, ongoing education and knowledge is so critical so important right? We have to continue to add. However, someone somewhere is waiting on what you already know, that they’re waiting for right now. So you gotta get out of that mind frame that you are not good enough.  Just because there are people who are already 20 steps ahead of you, everybody’s not at that level where they’re ready to invest in that coach who’s already placed ahead of you.

There are some people who are at the beginning of their journey who need what you know right now because you know more than they know. Just get that out of your mind that you’re not enough. You are enough. You are capable and you are worthy just as you are.”

“Research is formalized curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose. ” -Zora Neale Hurston

Testing and measuring are absolutely essential to the growth of any business. In order to test and measure, consumer research is important. In this episode of The Entrepreneurial  You Podcast, Jordan  Kentris shared his knowledge on the value of user testing and consumer research to improve products and website conversion.

Here is a snippet of what  Jordan shared:

“So many different ways you can do research; so there is that usability testing that we just talked about; there is contact testing and product testing where you’re testing a physical item or in the case of simply putting something in front of them and seeing how it is resonating. Then there are some broader research like market research so you can look at the competitive analysis. Some broader category level research…so If you for example you design household goods, what are other household good companies looking at? Or if you are doing custom wedding stationary, what are other stationery and wedding professionals doing in the market space and what kind of products do they have out there? And what are consumers looking for and how are they being engaged with their audiences?”

Shopify is indisputable one of the most popular  eCommerce hosting platforms. Since this option was created predominantly for product-based merchants around 10 years ago, it has only grown in popularity with vendors. This episode of The Entrepreneurial You podcast looks at how to set up a Shopify store for success.

Here is a snippet of what Elle shared:

“They (Shopify) do have a lot of different sales channels. The most popular ones are definitely Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest but they also have abilities to LinkedIn and Amazon to sell your products there as well. I think it’s really nice that you can set up your products once on your Shopify store and then just connect them to these other platforms where your customers may already be hanging out. So it makes it an easier process to get them to purchase from you and you’re not having to try to introduce people to your website every single time.”

Myths & Misconceptions of Personal Branding In The Digital Era

Edwin is the author of three books and has lectured to thousands of business professionals around the globe on the subjects of branding, social media, and digital marketing. In addition, Edwin has spent the last 35 years specializing in working with small businesses to increase their profits across the US and the globe. “If your customer base is aging with you, then eventually you are going to become obsolete or irrelevant. You need to be constantly figuring out who are your new customers and what are you doing to stay forever young. ” ― Jeff Bezos

We are in an era where seemingly everyone is a branding expert and we have the digital age to thank for that. But, we must proceed with caution as we aim to get branding right.  This episode of The Entrepreneurial You podcast with Edwin Dearborn will explore some of the myths and misconceptions of branding in the digital age.

Here is a snippet of what Edwin shared:

“Personal branding really is about how do you stand out amongst the noise; and be considered and looked to as the expert in your field. How do you become the obvious choice? When somebody wants to go to a restaurant-your’s the restaurant that everybody wants to go to or, if you’re the Personal Coach or the Realtor, how do you stand out amongst all the Realtors? I live in the Las Vegas, Nevada area in the United States. There’s 13,000 real estate. That’s a lot of people. Las Vegas has got 2.5 million people just within the city in the County so, how do you stand out? How do you stand out and be amongst the top 2 or 3% of the people that are considered? How to do that? You’ve got to build a brand not around you but around what you do…how you do it.”

What lessons have you learnt from the quarantine? What is your biggest takeaway? All this and more are the issues we focused on for this episode of The Entrepreneurial You Podcast.

Here is a snippet of what Julie shared:

“The thing that I always keep going back to is when you’re an entrepreneur, you’re sort of inventing everything for the first time. We like to say that we go to the university of Google and YouTube; teaching ourselves how to do all of these things that we didn’t expect to have to be experts in_finding away at least this is what I do.  Congratulating yourself for continuing the search I think is enormously helpful because if you wait until you have achieved competency and everything you need to in marketing and sales in all of the aspects of running a business, that’s just exhausting. So congratulating yourself on the journey I think is a really helpful move..”

Leveraging Reviews to Grow Your Business

“Nothing ruins your day more than getting a bad review.” Taylor Swift

It is no secret that reviews can either make or break your business. This is backed by statistics. In a recent survey, 83% of consumers say they either completely or somewhat trust recommendations from family, colleagues, and friends about products and services – making these recommendations the highest ranked source for trustworthiness. [Nielsen]. This week’s episode of The Entrepreneurial You Podcast focuses on this notion.

Here is a snippet of what  George shared:

“The statistics that I’ve seen is that 70% of the people that read reviews trust them as much as a recommendation from a friend. If you’re looking at a business and it has no reviews that means you’re probably going to be 70% more likely to choose the business that has reviews than the one that doesn’t.”

Where my reason, imagination or interest were not engaged, I would not or could not learn. — Sir Winston Churchill

With over 20 years in the online training business, Jennifer has been ahead of the game and has garnered so much experience which makes her a leader in this area. This episode of The Entrepreneurial You Podcast couldn’t be more relevant to the times we are now experiencing.

Here is a snippet of what  Jennifer shared:

“I like three things, I want everybody to be able to write on the Whiteboard at the same time because there’s ways we can get introductions of 25 people done in 2 minutes. It makes it very effective, which is so important in the virtual world. We may only have 90 minutes or two hours together and everybody’s working at the same time, which can be very powerful.

I like to have a chat room where everybody can have a group chat that’s easy to use that allows everyone to have an equal voice. So you may decide to speak out loud or you may decide to type in chat. It eliminates accents. It can help people with for example English as a second language and it allows people to reflect. I also want easy to use breakout rooms. Break out rooms allow us to come together in one virtual space and with the click of a few buttons we can send learner’s into smaller groups where they can collaborate and create together. Those are the things I look for in technology.”
