Hey Everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Digital Marketing Dive Podcast. I’m Seth Goldstein from Goldstein Media, with me is the self-proclaimed king of the Internet, Shawn Swaim, of Shawn Swaim Consulting.

Today we’re going to talk about domains. For yourself and for your brand.
This is the beginning conversation of a topic much larger than just domain names. This is where you have to think out your 5/10 year plan.
YourName.com or YourCompanyName.com
Benefits of each – Reputation for the name (the persons name), If a brand, it’s not tied to one single person potentially.
Disadvantages of each – Unless there is an element of “celebrity” to the person’s name, it could make their business seem small… Building a brand is expensive
But… in today’s world is it really a concern with someone’s name as the brand? Building “celebrity” is relatively easy now if you know what you’re doing.
Think of companies like Ogilvy(132 offices in 18 countries), Grant Cardone (116 employees), Vayner Media (800 Employees)
And cases like Rimm Kaufman group, which was acquired for an undisclosed, but assumed large amount.
