Retro Marketing

Share the goodness!

Today was all about SxSW and my reflections from this year’s show.

Episode 179 of our week-daily virtual coffee, which takes place in Konktown’s discord server: discord.gg/konktown and Clubhouse’s Startup Club House from 8-9am EST. It’s free and open to anyone from anywhere in the world.

Some of the key highlights from today’s discussion included:

  1. The importance of showing up, both physically and mentally, even when it’s challenging. Showing up is critical for opportunities and success.
  2. My experiences at South by Southwest over 18 years, including exhaustion from walking long distances and standing for hours each day. I’m getting old.
  3. The rise of AI and social media backlash as major trends observed at recent events, as well as opportunities for brands to engage influential attendees.
  4. Creative marketing strategies like Delta Airlines’ significant presence and an engaging treasure hunt concept at SXSW that kept me engaged.
  5. The potential to revive old marketing approaches like innovative business cards to help with networking and leave a lasting impression.
