Show Notes

“Marketing is like sex: everyone thinks they’re good at it.” ― Steve Tobak

We are bombarded with marketing videos on a daily basis encouraging us to sign up to this school or that. But have we considered what goes into setting up one?

This week, The Entrepreneurial You podcast invites Jessica Coster to talk about email automations best practices to make money.

Here is a snippet of what Jessica shared:

“You as a small business, your main focus should be creating a relationship with the customer. So speak to them how you would if you were in a store with them when people approach it from that space it becomes a lot easier to write how you would talk and not get so caught up in all of the rules of copywriting. Another thing to remember is that people buy with emotions and justify their purchases with logic. So as much as you can pull at those heartstrings or the emotion behind what it is that they’re purchasing, the more successful you’ll be.  For the welcome series in that first email where you are delivering the discount, I usually keep it very simple: here is your discount, come to the website and make your purchase.”

Listen to the episode and let us know what is your biggest takeaway.
