Never mind the dog barking in the background, we are in the midst of a pandemic so we make do the best way we can, so please forgive us.
It is hard to imagine our lives without technology but technology in a pandemic? what’s its role? That is the focus of this episode of The Entrepreneurial You podcast.
Christopher Reckord has a wealth of knowledge in the IT space and is therefore ideal to speak on this topic.
Here is a snippet of what Chris shared:
“When folks are working in their organizations and in their offices, they’re almost clothed by the organization’s IT security protection and so there’s a comfort in knowing that you are within our scheme of protection. However, now that you’re working remotely, we are not that comfortable anymore. So here are all these other things that have to happen with respect to ‘did the software that they’re using. So for us, one of the big recommendations that we make to all of our customers is switching on multi-factor Authentication, and of course strengthening passwords, and ensuring that the connectivity between you and the office or you and the internet is secure. So whether its VPNs, encryptions, so it’s a whole host of things. Some folks used to have it as additional Software or additional work that somebody else had to do. A lot of technology now has to build that in to ensure that their application is now chosen over another application because they can prove that it is now safe.”
